Year 8 Kitchen Science
Year 8 spent their Science lesson turning this season's huge tomato crop from the school garden into different pasta sauces, and then having a sit down lunch with the Headmaster and his wife. They concocted different roast tomato sauces with chillies and onions, parmesan and basil. There was plenty spare, which was taken to the school kitchen for use as part of next week's lunch menu! Their prep was to review all the Science that they had encountered: flowering plants and fruit formation, filtration (sieving out the seeds and skin), evaporation (reducing the sauce), nurition groups, healthy foods... etc.
