Aims
At Barfield Nursery School, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, safe and caring environment where children love to be. They arrive at school full of beans, go home happy and stimulated, looking forward to the next.
Throughout each stage, we treat each child as unique individuals, build strong relationships with them and their families and help them grow in all areas of their development. As they move through each stage from Owlets to Owls, and then from Owls on to Reception, the children continue on their own learning journey, at their own pace, at first alongside peers, then together and collaboratively, in a progressive way.
Having good ratios of staff to children and small class sizes means we really know our children. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, through Play and following their own interests and through age appropriate topics. In addition to this, and all children from our youngest in Owlets, all the way through to Reception and beyond into the rest of the Pre-Prep participate in exciting experiences such as Forest Schools, Swimming, Music, PE, Gardening and Cooking on a very regular basis.
