Housekeeping

Barfield operates a healthy eating policy throughout the school and we pride ourselves on the diversity of menu choices we offer to all pupils.
At morning break the children are provided with a snack or fruit and a drink of milk or water. Sample Menu
Please scroll to the foot of the page for this week's menu.
You can see from our lunch menus that all pupils' nutritional needs and requirements are adequately catered for within the wide range of foods available to them. All meals are prepared on the school premises by our own school chef and her team, using freshly delivered ingredients. However, should your child have any specific dietary or medical requirements, the catering team is happy to discuss with you appropriate adaptations to the menu.
For children staying on beyond 4.10pm, a drink and sandwiches are provided.
For any further information on our school catering please contact Mrs Jenny Hughes on 01252 782271.
First Aid Room
Should your child feel poorly whilst at school, we have a medical room located in the main building where fully trained first aid staff are on hand to deal with all incidents. You will, of course, be notified of any accidents, or requested to sign the accident book as appropriate.
If any medicine is required to be given to your child, we request that you hand it in to the main reception office where it will be given to the first aid team and stored appropriately until required.
We have medical records for all Barfield pupils which highlight any particular health issues and allergies your child may have. However, we would urge you to keep us fully up to date on these matters so that we may inform appropriate teaching/supervision staff of the action required in the event of an accident.
Should we feel that your child is no longer well enough to remain with us for the rest of the school day, we will contact you and arrange for his/her collection.
All Barfield staff receive first aid training by the St John Ambulance team.
