Entry can be at any time during the academic year. It is subject to a preliminary assessment visit for your child at the appropriate age level and a space available for them in their year group.

Barfield is an inclusive school that welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities. All applications will be treated on merit and in a sensitive manner.

Following the popularity of our Nursery, priority is given to children joining the Nursery who will be moving through the whole school.

In the Nursery, children start after their 2nd birthday following their 2-year development check and attend a minimum of three of the ten available sessions. They can build these up to full-time as they gain confidence.

The standard procedure is for parents to attend an Open Morning or arrange to visit the school and meet the Headmaster. This is followed by completing the registration form, which should be sent to the school with the registration fee.

All children are invited for a "taster" session before joining in order for them to be assessed. Reports are also requested from a child’s current school if appropriate. Following the assessment, places will be offered to prospective parents and a confirmation fee will be requested to confirm a child’s place.

Full details of our Admissions Policy can be found at the bottom of this page. If you need any further information, please get in touch with me at sgrantham@barfieldpst.org, and I look forward to hearing from you.
