Hatchlings

Hatchlings

Hatchlings is the first stage of the Nursery, for the children aged 2.  We ask for our Hatchlings to attend a minimum of three sessions a week.  It is a bright and stimulating environment designed to encourage all the seven areas of your child’s development in the Early Years Foundation Stage, but to particularly focus on the prime areas of communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.

The classroom contains a wide range of resources to encourage your child’s development, through exploration, investigation, questioning and play using all their senses.

There is free access from the classroom to an enclosed outdoor area, with an array of equipment and the children are encouraged to use the outdoor area as often as possible.

We also make weekly visits to the school library and Treetops classroom (our outdoor learning treehouse) as well as weekly Music lessons with our Director of Music.  We like to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying walks in the woods and the Hatchlings attend Toddlers in the Woods, where they get to complete a selection of Forest School type activities.
